The cubic-tetragonal phase transition in strontium titanate: excess specific heat measurements and evidence for a near-tricritical, mean field type transition mechanism

摘要: The transition between the cubic and tetragonal phase in shows an excess specific heat of . Comparison temperature evolution entropy structural order parameter Q within experimental errors apparent exponent was confirmed analysed using a Landau-type expression for Gibbs free energy with A = 0.70 J , B 31.22 C 42.17 K K. closeness to tricritical point is seen by < C; all thermodynamic data 85 could be described selfconsistently this approach although small deviations cannot excluded interval less than 1 around tail at
