摘要: The upcoming switch to digital TV in most of the world has renewed interest terrestrial tuner implementations. More importantly, video reception is emerging as latest feature towards multimedia-enriched handheld devices. Mobile, battery operated devices require small size tuners that consume low power and are amenable single-chip integration with baseband demodulator. In broadcast TV, main standards expected coexist worldwide DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast-Terrestrial) Europe, ISDB-T (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial) Japan based on OFDM modulation (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) ATSC-DTV (Advanced Television Systems Committee-Digital TV) USA 8-VSB (Vestigial Sideband Modulation). mobile several (summarized Table 5.1) will enable cell-phones other hand-held such PDAs portable music players compete globally. popular appears be DVB-H (DVBHandheld) [1], which an extension DVB-T.
