摘要: Ingestion of fruit and vegetables rich in inorganic nitrate (NO(3)(-)) has emerged as an effective method for acutely elevating vascular nitric oxide (NO) levels through formation NO(2)(-) intermediate. As such a number beneficial effects NO(3)(-) ingestion have been demonstrated including reductions blood pressure, measures arterial stiffness platelet activity. The pathway NO generation from dietary interventions involves the activity facultative oral microflora that facilitate reduction NO(3)(-), ingested diet, to NO(2)(-). This then eventually enters circulation where, one or more range distinct reductases, it is chemically reduced NO. provides alternative route vivo could be utilized therapeutic benefit those cardiovascular disease states where bioavailable thought contribute pathogenesis. Indeed, benefits are now starting translated patients several clinical trials. In this review, we discuss recent evidence supporting potential utility delivery treatment diseases.
