摘要: Dillenia indica, commonly known as Elephant apple, is widely used in treating various ailments traditionally the North-east India. indica treatment of diseases like fever, diabetes, diarrhoea, food poisoning, etc. The studies done on this under-utilized suggest that plant has medicinal uses pertaining to its high content antioxidants and phenols. Comprehensive relevant literature health benefits under-exploited plant, was gathered through electronic databases including Google Scholar,  PubMed, certain books, without limiting dates publication. Traditionally, different parts have curing properties cancer, wound healing, bone fracture, cut burns, abdominal pains Based phytochemical investigations, been reported contain active constituents betulin, betulinic acid, dillenetin, dipoloic myricetin, quercetin derivatives Different prepared extracts wide range flavonoids, steroids, triterpenoids, phenolics, saponins fixed oil which may exert varied pharmacological activities anti-cancer, anti-diarrhoeal, anti-microbial, anti-oxidant many more. present review aims at providing information about indica.
