摘要: The sexual behavior of 20-year-old long-term-castrated and intact male rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) was observed. In the first experiment we compared males tested in 1980 with their performance 1970 (before castration sham castration) 1971 (1 year after operation). 1980, castrated were while under testosterone propionate treatment. did not differ any measures over 10-year period, but both groups showed a decline percentage tests intromissions ejaculations; rates contacting, mounting, intromitting; an increase latencies to contact, intromit, ejaculate. second experiment, performances old those young (8 12 years). intromission rate significantly greater than males, from values for males. each other these measures. Young had higher ejaculation either group We have concluded that retain potential display at levels comparable observed
