Home-range size and territoriality in Bolomys lasiurus (Rodentia: Muridae) in an Amazonian savanna

摘要: Bolomys lasiurus is the only species of rodent commonly found in savanna Alter do Chao, central Amazonia. Peak densities during 42 months were less than have been reported from cerrado biome Brazil. However, population at Chao appears to be more stable those other areas and we never recorded zero densities. Many animals captured over periods greater 7 months, indicating that either mortality or dispersal was previous studies. Mean home-range size females inversely related proportion gravid lactating. Female home ranges mutually exclusive averaged 35% (SD = 8.2%) male ranges. Male overlapped extensively. Indices varied seasonally among years.
