摘要: Plasmalogens are a major sub-class of ethanolamine and choline phospholipids in which the sn-1 position has long chain fatty alcohol attached through vinyl ether bond. These proposed to play role membrane fusion-mediated events. In this study, we investigated plasmalogen plasmenylethanolamine (PlsE11167) intracellular cholesterol transport Chinese hamster ovary cell mutants NRel-4 NZel-1, have single gene defects PlsEtn biosynthesis. We found that was essential for specific pathways, those from surface or endocytic compartments acyl-CoA/cholesterol acyltransferase endoplasmic reticulum. The movement reticulum normal PlsEtn-deficient cells. Also, vesicle trafficking cells, as measured by fluid phase endocytosis exocytosis, newly-synthesized proteins surface. mutant phenotype due lack PlsEtn, since it corrected when cells were transfected with cDNA encoding missing enzyme supplied metabolic intermediate enters biosynthetic pathway downstream defect. Future work must determine precise plasmalogens on
