Malacofaunal inventory in Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary, West Bengal, India

摘要: The knowledge on the floral and faunal composition of protected areas (PAs) is crucial for formulating suitable conservation plan.  In this paper, inventory species richness non-marine molluscs Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary has been made first time from any PA West Bengal.  A total 276 specimens belonging to 22 (10 land snails 12 freshwater) (land were collected examined sanctuary.  malacofaunal comprises nine genera under seven families among & both gastropods bivalves freshwater forms.  As far as concerned, family Ariophantidae was found be dominant forms whereas Thiaridae Unionidae forms.
