Batterer intervention programs: a report from the field

摘要: Over the past 25 years, batterer intervention has become most probable disposition following a plea or conviction on domestic battery charges and, consequently, programs (BIPs) have proliferated. Despite their popularity, and recent attempts by states to regulate practice, little is known about actual operating in field. The aim of this study was examine philosophy, structure, leadership, curricula, support systems BIPs. Respondents from 276 45 described via an anonymous, Web-based survey. results provide some insight regarding workings BIPs also point out problems such as dearth languages other than English failure translate recommendations for prescriptive approaches into practice.
