摘要: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is prevalent in southern China. In non-welfare countries, eating difficulties after radiotherapy may hinder NPC patients' short-term quality of life (QoL) especially regarding work and finance. This study explored the positive mediating role optimism on relationship between ability QoL Chinese patients who received Hong Kong. A sample 211 newly referred were recruited followed-up face-to-face or by telephone at four (post-radiation 1) (FU eight 2) months from baseline. was measured FACT-G (Chinese). Optimism two 11-point self-rated items. Mediating effects tested with a series multiple regression models. After adjustment for pre-radiation QoL, socioeconomic status cancer stage, significantly mediated FU 1 overall 2, particular physical social/family well-being. first to underpin patients. Faced aversive side-effects radiotherapy, facilitating thinking accelerate their post-radiation adjustment.
