摘要: The work reported below is the first of its kind to study properties turbulent flow without strong mean shear in a Newtonian fluid proximity turbulent/nonturbulent interface, with emphasis on small-scale aspects. main tools used are three-dimensional particle tracking system allowing one measure and follow Lagrangian manner field velocity derivatives direct numerical simulations. comparison (A), intermediate (B), nonturbulent (C) regions interface allows for observation key physical processes underlying entrainment phenomenon. differences between strain enstrophy striking point definite scenario via viscous forces originating strain.
