摘要: Abstract In the first year after President Yudhoyono's re-election, Indonesian politics continued to evolve in largely familiar patterns. Contrary expectations of some observers, strong popular mandate and his Democratic Party's newly won parliamentary plurality did not result significant changes president's cautious style governing or fickle nature president–parliament relations. Most political parties also opted for continuity over change, electing re-electing established figures as leaders despite high levels public dissatisfaction with their performance. The fact that 2009 election failed generate any new momentum reform does augur well remainder second term. Although basic parameters Indonesia's democracy remain intact, developments during 2010 have confirmed a pattern stagnation is likely see Indonesia barely muddle through reasonably stable yet low-quality democracy.
