摘要: Neuropathic bladder is considered a threat to the kidneys if not managed appropriately. In this study, we report our experience with neuropathic at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH) as cause of chronic renal failure (CRF) in pediatric age group. This retrospective study included all children diagnosed who presented moderate or severe CRF over 4-year period from December 2000 2004 [glomerular filtration rate (GFR) presentation <50 ml/min per 1.73 m2]. Fifteen patients were bladder; group A consisted ten spina bifida and one sacral agenesis B four nonneurogenic neurogenic bladders (NNNB). The mean age±SD was 6.2±3.8 years, GFR 24.2±12.4 m2, creatinine 289.9±253.2 μmol/l. There no differences nephrologist degree between two groups. Clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) started before KAUH, except children. Five required dialysis they end-stage (ESRF). All received peritoneal (PD). Their start 10.8±1.7 years. due NNNB an important developing countries. considerable delay diagnosis significant starting CIC patients.
