摘要: Summary The effectiveness of stormwater management strategies is a key issue affecting decision making on urban water resources management, and so proper monitoring analysis pilot studies must be addressed before drawing conclusions. We performed study in the suburban Shepherd Creek watershed located Cincinnati, Ohio to evaluate practicality voluntary incentives for quantity reduction privately owned properties. Stream discharge precipitation were monitored 3 years after implementation treatments. To implement control measures, we elicited participation citizen landowners with two successive reverse-auctions. Auctions held spring 2007, 2008, resulting installation 85 rain gardens 174 barrels. demonstrated an analytic process increasing model flexibility determine hydrologic at sub-catchment level. A significant albeit small proportion total variance was explained by both effects period (∼69%) treatment-vs.-control (∼7%). Precipitation–discharge relationships synthesized estimated unit hydrographs, which decomposed components tested influence Analysis hydrograph parameters showed weakened correlation between discharge, support output from initial that parcel-level green infrastructure added detention capacity treatment basins. conclude retrofit runoff catchment can successfully initiated novel economic incentive programs, these measures impart small, but statistically decrease otherwise uncontrolled volume. Given consistent data analysis, resource managers use our approach as way estimate actual volume potential benefits separated combined sewer systems. also discuss lessons-learned regard design catchment-scale studies.
