摘要: A magnetic spectrometer for the measurement of beta‐ and gamma‐ray energies has been constructed. By using an inhomogeneous field varying radially in proper manner, it is possible to bring electrons which leave source with extremely wide spread angle essentially a perfect focus 180°. It thus use large mean radius curvature 40 cm order obtain high resolution combined reasonable transmission about 0.1 percent total solid angle. Under operating conditions, 0.4‐cm source, full width at half maximum internal conversion line 0.5 percent. Scattering background effects are negligible.
