摘要: The population structure of Labeo dussumieri, an endangered and endemic cyprinid from three riverine locations in the Western Ghats, India was investigated using allozyme, microsatellite and RAPD markers. L. dussumieri samples were obtained from Meenachil, Manimala Pamba River basins, Kerala. Fourteen (46.7%) out 30 allozyme loci, seven microsatellite loci 12 RAPD Operon decamers gave polymorphic pattern. Six (AAT-2*, EST-4*, GLDH*, GPI-2*, G6PDH* LDH-2*) three (LdussG1, MFW19 Bgon22) exhibited consistent significant deviation Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium expectations in different populations after probability level (P<0.05) adjusted for sequential Bonferroni correction. All marker types demonstrated concordant results various estimates revealed genetic variability within subpopulations but surprisingly low (= 0.0034 to 0.0081) differentiation among different river samples. AMOVA analysis also indicated subpopulations. No evidence a recent genetic bottleneck observed based on data set analysis. Pamba Rivers open to southern end Vembanad Lake Kerala are connected each other lower reaches through extensive network of natural canals. Common ancestry prehistoric period; possible mixing fish populations resulting high gene flow across rivers lake interconnecting canals could have been responsible lack allelic heterogeneity the L. populations. stocks do not require management strategies propagation assisted ranching programme this species, large effective breeding can be developed by individuals
