摘要: Yeast can be engineered to carry human chromosomes; highly diverged ducks produce viable, fertile offspring; and mitochondrial genes move between widely divergent groups of plants. Some sunflower or oak species have porous genomes; mice, crickets, birds, butterflies form hybrid zones; bacterial lineages been exchanging for several billion years. Even so, nature is discrete full species. Here, we discuss some the ingredients that make lead clustering even in presence gene flow. Many these results recently published, this issue elsewhere, were discussed at Genetics Speciation Symposium held annual meeting American Association, Vancouver, Canada, 2006.
