摘要: Commissioned by the State legislature after a succession of deadly and damaging landslides decades exurban growth on steep mountain slopes, North Carolina Geological Survey produced series landslide hazard maps detailing for public prone areas Macon County, Carolina, USA. While widely supported at state local levels in 2005, 2011, mapping program was defunded state’s budget were highly politically criticized County. Even today, remain unused any legal capacity are unknown to many residents region. Empirically, this article narrates political fate County from 2005–2011 theoretically, it draws upon synthesis urban ecology (UPE), science technology studies (STS), critical cartography interpret rapid downfall maps.
