Can occupational therapy intervention play a part in maintaining independence and quality of life in older people? A randomised controlled trial

摘要: The main objective of this study was to see if older people could maintain their quality life and independence after homes had been modified they were using community services as recommended by an occupational therapist. There 167 participants aged 69 94 years from the Northern Sydney Area. After being assessed at home therapist, 105 randomly allocated one two groups, either have or not therapist's recommendations carried out. They again six months. A third group did require any intervention. This followed up telephone postal questionnaire outcome measures used Sickness Impact Profile, Philadelphia Geriatric Center Morale Scale, Life Satisfaction Index, assessment Activities Daily Living, Health Assessment Questionnaire change in residence. months there no difference outcomes among three groups. Most remained a satisfactory level on each measure. Three died.
