摘要: Water having entered a stream channel from the surrounding catchment may continue to have connections with catchment. In stream’s hyporheic zone, water “in channel” exchanges “groundwater” in bed of stream. Hyporheic exchange flows typically occur at scales small relative length and volumetric transport characteristics Nevertheless, it is well documented that significantly influence nutrient dynamics. Additionally, there evidence similarly influencing processes establishing concentrations major-ions metals stream-catchment systems. It within contexts (i) solute (ii) continuing streams their catchments hydrologic aspects are studied. The Transient Storage Model (TSM), pseudo-two-dimensional representation zone transport, used identify physical size, residence times. TSM further extended simulations reactive understand interpret biogeochemical dynamics catchments. Active research continues advance process basis which quantitative assessments role will be made.
