摘要: Objectives/Hypothesis In 1998 Eavey described a new inlay technique for tympanoplasty in the pediatric age group using cartilage graft through transcanal approach. This was found to be effective and comfortable (no external canal incisions or ear packing). study evaluated efficacy of modified-inlay compared with conventional underlay tympanoplasty. Study Design Randomized clinical trial. Methods Patients were enrolled from December March 2000. Seventy tympanoplasties done adults medium-sized tympanic membrane (TM) perforations: 34 36 (control group). The main outcome measures “take rate” on 30th postoperative day audiometric result at second month. Secondary include subjective hearing, pain, duration surgery, cost procedures. Results did not differ between groups (88.2% vs 86.1% group;P = .8). After mean follow-up 7.5 ± 3.8 months (range, 3–16 mo), 85.3% 83.3% (P there closure air–bone gap (ABG) within 10 dB 64.7% 20 94.1%. corresponding numbers 75% 97.2%. only 2 cases (5.9%) 1 case (2.8%) ABG greater than dB. No difference observed .6). Most patients reported immediate improvement their hearing <.0001). Pain by 30 first surgery (mean standard deviation) 33.6 7.8 minutes 62.9 12.7 estimated charge our institution 65% less expensive tympanoplasty. Conclusion results following similar. Inlay butterfly require general anesthesia, expensive, more patient.
