摘要: Abstract Angle resolved photoemission and thermal desorption studies of atomic hydrogen adsorbed onto the (111) surface Cu show that bonding H to is very similar on transition metals. Saturated adsorption at temperatures below 200K produces a two peak spectrum (peaks ≈ 230K 300K) spectra reveal Hls derived state 6.2 eV Fermi energy quite dramatic charge redistributions within d-bands. Molecular H2 does not dissociate Cu(111) under conditions these experiments whereas chemisorbs even above room temperature. This confirms existence large dissociation barrier Cu.
