摘要: Background Vascular dementia (VaD) is the second common form of and Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) has been used for aging-related disorders thousands years. However, there still a lack scientific evidence using CHM VaD. Objective To conduct systematic review to assess current available effectiveness safety Methods Six databases were searched high-quality randomized-controlled clinical trials that met requirements at least 4 7 domains Cochrane risk bias tool from their inception February 2017. RevMan 5.3 was applied data analysis. Results Forty studies with 42 comparisons 3,572 individuals included. The investigated versus placebo (n = 4), western conventional treatment (WCT) 36), plus WCT 2). Meta-analysis showed VaD could improve Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Activities Daily Living, Hasegawa's scale, effective rate but had statistically similar effect based on Blessed Behavior Scale (BBS) outcome when compared WCTs. When placebo, CHMs more beneficial in improving MMSE no significant difference BBS scores. as adjuvant therapy exerted an additive anti-VaD benefit participants group fewer adverse events than or group. Conclusion findings present study support, extent, can be recommended routine use
