摘要: The present work investigates the interaction between local and synoptic meteorology resultant air mass exchange two major regions of Athens Metropolitan Area (AMA); Messogia Plain, a rural area under development Basin which combines industrial human activities. These are separated by 1000 m-high Hymettos Mountain. Meteorological data from 4-month experimental campaign used to (a) identify classify principal types observed, based on past long-term observations, (b) determine recurrent surface wind flow patterns over Plain Basin, (c) specify effect thermal flows meteorological coupling areas in relation synoptic, background (large-scale) conditions, (d) analyse Mountain through natural openings link geographically.
