摘要: The 6-kDa early secreted antigenic target (ESAT-6; EsxA) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis was first identified as a potent T-cell antigen, and it is now recognized pore-forming toxin that essential for virulence M. tuberculosis. ESAT-6 through the ESX-1 secretion system (Type VII) M. tuberculosis has been implicated to mediate mycobacterial cytosolic translocation within host macrophages by rupturing phagosomal membranes. Recent studies have made significant progresses in understanding mechanism membrane interaction its role pathogenesis, but important questions still remain be answered. Here, we summarize current progress study roles pathogenesis discuss some key remaining future investigation.
