摘要: BACKGROUND AND AIM: Treatment of chronic hepatitis C patients, infected with genotype 4 interferon-alpha yielded a limited response. Our aim was to compare the efficacy alone and in combination ribavirin patients 4. PATIENTS: Fifty-two (all males) 4, who had not received interferon, were randomized into 2 equal comparable groups. METHODS: Group I interferon alpha-2b "Schering Plough" 3 MU, tiw combined (1000 mg/day). II same dose. Both groups evaluated monthly, at end 24 weeks treatment later. Two dropped from group one patient II. RESULTS: Biochemical response: treatment, return normal ALT obtained 16/24 (66.7%) on therapy vs 8/25 (32%) (p = 0.0152). At follow-up, sustained response achieved 10/24 (41.7%) 4/25 (16%) 0.0468). Virologic rates virological higher 9/24 (37.5%) than those 0.0380). loss serum HCV RNA reported 5/24 (20.8%) 2/25 (8%) 0.1916). Histologic mild histologic improvement shown by decrease inflammatory score, which highest group. CONCLUSIONS: In more effective monotherapy. about 50% both still viraemic though their remained normal.
