摘要: Forty-nine patients (52 knees) with untreated anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures were evaluated an average of 14 years after injury. The results compared those a ten-year follow-up study on the same patients. Eighty-six percent knees had one or both menisci removed. There been little change in symptoms, except that incidence giving way decreased. laxity and rotary instability continued to be high. Seventy-five participate strenuous sports. degenerative changes roentgenograms increased, one-third demonstrating joint space narrowing unequivocal evidence osteoarthritis. Development was associated varus deformity, meniscectomy, relatively heavy body weight.
