摘要: Methods and apparatus are set forth which provide for the allocation of bandwidth point-to-point, serial, bidirectional communication paths in a digital switching system. Bandwidth is performed at both ends path (e.g. T1 line, IML, etc.) may take place either direction. Furthermore, according to preferred embodiment invention, Allocation Facility (BAF) each end given allocates integer multiples maximum system granularity. The BAF also supports implementation user requests any one plurality boundry rules. To minimize probability contention out band signalling between pair associated with path, front-to-back search mechanism assigned pair, while other utilizes back-to-front mechanism. In this way occurs only when path's capacity nears exhaustion uneven loading (one side versus other) accommodated. Further yet, methods support rapid deallocation status reporting.
