摘要: T preliminary report has been prepared to present an evaluation of survey data collected at municipal diatomite filter plants in N ew York State. It is directed primarily assessment source raw-water quality experienced installations and plant operational flexibility sustaining a continuity filtration cycles under varying quality. Early the survey, it was recognized that order assess objectively quality, turbidity measurements alone would not suffice. In view this, microscopic examinations water samples for determination total count, expressed as standard units per milliliter, were adopted index assumed this parameter could be considered primary head loss contribution sources having no appreciable amounts inorganic clay or silt. Department records analysis indicate wide variation count waters containing less than 10-15 turbidity.
