A step-by-step introduction to vegetables at the beginning of complementary feeding. The effects of early and repeated exposure.

摘要: Breastfeeding (BF) is associated with willingness to accept vegetables. This may be due the variety of flavours delivered via breast milk. Some mothers add vegetables milk during complementary feeding (CF) enhance acceptance. The present study tested a step-by-step exposure in then rice CF, on intake and liking Just before enrolled were randomised an intervention (IG, n = 18; 6 BF) or control group (CG, BF). IG infants received 12 daily exposures vegetable puree added (days 1-12), × 2 at home 13-24). Plain given CG. Then both 11 puree. Intake was weighed rated days 25-26 33-35 after start CF laboratory, supplemented by same data recorded home. Vegetables rotated (carrots, green beans, spinach, broccoli). Intake, pace eating greater for than CG infants. carrots beans. However, 6m 18m follow up, (carrot > beans) but not differences observed. Mothers reported appreciation structure guidance this systematic approach. Early method could included guidelines longer term benefits assessed extending period.
