摘要: Vaginal swabs from women who on clinical evidence were thought to have vaginal candidosis examined for yeasts by conventional laboratory methods (microscopy and culture) also assayed Candida antigens using a rapid (3 min) slide latex particle agglutination tests. Results showed that diagnosis of based criteria alone is unreliable: only half the subsequently confirmed as having microscopy culture. The new test gave better results, with 100% specificity, 80% sensitivity, high predictive values (greater than or equal 91%), an overall diagnostic efficiency 93%. From results this preliminary study, looks promising, alternative confirming has considerable advantage it can be conveniently used in setting.
