摘要: The identification of critical relationships between beach-dune morphology and erosion/accretion status in coastal dune systems may provide a forewarning signaling future changes foredune behavior (Sayeet al. 2005). Beach-dune morphometric parameters identified from Light Detection Ranging (LiDAR) Differential Global Positioning System(dGPS) survey data at Youghal Beach, Co. Cork, Ireland, however, do not appear to indicate the existence such relationships. Geographical Information System (GIS) analyses historical contemporary geodata beach were performed determine status. average rate shoreline change 1842 2006 was observed be −0.102 m a−1 toe 1973 +0.003 a−1. No significant any ten ρ = 0.1 observed. It is argued that human influences on, or near,Youghal controls on its morphodynamic functioning. This research subject limitations associated with using map data, as unknown accuracy, limited availability datasets, integration multiple spatial scales.
