摘要: Side channels are commonly constructed to reduce the flood risk or increase ecological value of a river. Such artificial side generally aggrade. We categorize development based on sediment that is deposited in these channels. Based this categorization, we determine main mechanisms affect their development, and propose an initial framework how predict long‐term The results can be used design, operate, maintain channel systems.
