摘要: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate gastroprotective and healing effects methanolic extract seed papaya Carica L. (MECP) in rats. Models acute gastric ulcer induction by ethanol indomethacin chronic acetic acid were used. juice mucus parameters evaluated using pylorus ligation model, involvement sulfhydryl compounds (GSH) nitric oxide effect analyzed model. toxicity assessed through tests. No signs observed when rats received a single dose 2000 mg/kg extract. MECP doses 125, 250, 500 mg/kg significantly reduced lesion with 56, 76, 82 % inhibition, respectively, 30 mg/kg lansoprazole showed 79 % inhibition (125, 500 mg/kg) cimetidine (200 mg/kg) 62, 67, 81, 85 % respectively. (500 mg/kg) treatments reduction ulcerative symptoms induced 84 73 %, antiulcerogenic activity seems involve GSH because dropped from 72 13 % presence inhibitor. Moreover, systemic action, increasing production decreasing acidity. Treatments induce gastroprotection without toxicity. This compounds, increased mucus,
