摘要: Fragmentation of forest landscapes can raise the intensity nest predation by increasing abundance and richness generalist or introduced predators. Understory foraging birds, such as rhinocryptids, be highly vulnerable to in fragmented because they often place their nests on ground. Temperate deciduous forests Chile have been intensively last centuries, causing changes predator densities. We tested if artificial nests, mimicking those placed above ground was higher remnant fragments central due an increase abundance. The rate remnants larger than native continuous forest. Small mammals were main Despite high rates, rhinocryptids is remnants, suggesting that might constitute ecological traps.
