Numerical simulations of Trichel pulses in a negative corona in air

摘要: Numerical simulations of a negative corona in air demonstrate that the experimentally observed regime self-oscillations, known as Trichel pulses, is well described by three-dimensional axisymmetric model based on standard transport equations and which only ion-induced secondary electron emission at cathode taken into account. The quantitative difference between measured calculated values mean current pulse repetition rate most likely stems from insufficiently large dimensions computation region fact point shape adopted somewhat inexactly conforms to used experiments.
