摘要: The aim of this study was to examine the effect varying force direction on maxillary protraction. A total 20 patients with class III retrognathism were randomly divided into two groups. Group 1 comprised nine a mean age 8.58 years, and group 2 composed 11 8.51 years. Both groups received cap splint-type rapid palatal expander screw activated twice day for 10 days. After expansion procedure face mask pro- traction initiated. In 1, we applied intraorally from canine region forward downward at 308 angle occlusal plane. 2, extraorally mm above both unilateral 500 g instructed wear 16 h/d first three months 12 next months. Wilcoxon sign rank test used evaluate different masks, Mann-Whitney U-test carried out differences between results showed that systems equally effective protract maxilla; however, in observed maxilla advanced counter-clockwise rotation. an anterior translation without dental effects methods also different. plane did not rotate contrast clockwise rotation 2. incisors proclined slightly but they retroclined extruded conclusion, application near center resistance method prevent unwanted side effects, such as maxilla, 1. suggest can be effectively who present combined open bite.
