Magnetic dichroism in angle-resolved hard x-ray photoemission from buried layers

摘要: This work reports the measurement of magnetic dichroism in angular-resolved photoemission from in-plane magnetized buried thin films. The high bulk sensitivity hard x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) combination with circularly polarized radiation enables investigation properties layers. HAXPES experiments an excitation energy 8 keV were performed on exchange-biased layers covered by oxide Two types structures investigated IrMn exchange-biasing layer either above or below ferromagnetic layer: one a CoFe top and another Co${}_{2}$FeAl beneath layer. A pronounced is found Co Fe $2p$ states both materials. localization moments at site conditioning peculiar characteristics Heusler compound, predicted to be half-metallic ferromagnet, revealed detected states.
