Social firms: Building cross-sectoral partnerships to create employment opportunity and supportive workplaces for people with mental illness

摘要: UNLABELLED A major barrier to employment for people with mental illness is limited access supportive and non-discriminatory workplaces. Social firms are businesses committed employing up 50% of a disability or other disadvantage providing work environments that benefit workers. Little research has been conducted understand the features social processes support vocational experiences employees health issues in firms. OBJECTIVE This ethnographic study sought explore nine at one Australian firm. PARTICIPANTS Nine firm, without illness. METHODS Study methods used included participant observation, interviewing document analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS The highlights complexity running socially-invested business, importance cross-sectoral partnerships their operational success. Natural workplace supports, adequate training infrastructure enabling participation were identified as important creating workplace. Partnerships within discussed.
