摘要: The present invention relates to a process for removing sulfur from sulfur-containing hydrocarbon streams utilizing multi-ring aromatic complex containing an alkali metal ion. Preferably, the sulfur- stream is comprised of high molecular weight hydrocarbons, such as low API gravity, viscosity crude, tar sands bitumen, oil derived shale, or heavy refinery intermediate stocks atmospheric resids vacuum which are typically difficult desulfurize and contain relatively amounts sulfur.
