摘要: Lead has recently been expelled from many commercial applications and materials (for example, solder, glass pottery glaze) owing to concerns regarding its toxicity. zirconium titanate (PZT) ceramics are high-performance piezoelectric materials, which widely used in sensors, actuators other electronic devices; they contain more than 60 weight per cent lead. Although there a concerted effort develop lead-free ceramics, no effective alternative PZT yet found. Here we report ceramic with an electric-field-induced strain comparable typical actuator-grade PZT. We achieved this through the combination of discovery morphotropic phase boundary alkaline niobate-based perovskite solid solution, development processing route leading highly textured polycrystals. The exhibits constant d33 (the induced charge unit force applied same direction) above 300 picocoulombs newton (pC N(-1)), texturing material leads peak 416 pC N(-1). also temperature-independent field-induced characteristics.
