摘要: A standardized disinfectant test for Staphylococcus aureus cells in biofilms was developed. Two disinfectants, the membrane-active compound benzalkonium chloride (BAC) and oxidizing agent sodium hypochlorite, were used to evaluate biofilm test. S. formed on glass, stainless steel, polystyrene a simple system with constant nutrient flow that mimicked as closely possible conditions current standard European (EN 1040). The glass contained cell clumps extracellular polysaccharides. average surface coverage 60%, most (92%) of viable. Biofilm formation disinfection different experiments reproducible. For exposed BAC hypochlorite concentrations needed achieve 4-log killing 50 600 times higher, respectively, than this level phase 1 suspension cells. Our results show is useful addition tests.
