摘要: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) has become a common therapeutic approach to patients with movement disorders. We evaluated results from two centers in large metropolitan area where DBS systems are implanted into the thalamus for tremor. Although all led an improvement tremor, morbidity related hardware system occurred. A total of 23 problems were noted 66 undergoing implantation (27% patients). The most problem included breakage electrode lead its extracranial location, infection, battery or connector problems, migration, and hemorrhage. Management was tailored specific hardware-related problem. Modifications both surgical technique design should reduce incidence complications. Surgeons who place be aware spectrum that can associated device placement.
