摘要: Over ordering blood is a common practice in medicine. This can be corrected by simple means of changing the pattern. A retrospective study was carried out tertiary care hospital Armed Forces for three year period to strategies hospital. The total units demanded and corresponding issued were estimated. Thereafter, transfusion probability ratio cross-matched actual transfused (C/T ratio) calculated. In this study, using Mead's criterion, C/T ratio, guidelines all cases requiring proposed. also identifies where ‘Type Screen’ (T&S) procedure could introduced low. other group high, maximum surgical schedule (MSBOS) has been determined identify number kept ready before procedure. implementation proposal will avoid over-ordering promote utilization.
