摘要: An InfraRed Suppression System (IRSS) includes an exhaust manifold and a high aspect ratio duct along longitudinal length thereof. The IRSS minimizes impingement of engine onto adjacent aircraft structure by discharging the flow upwardly and/or outwardly, away from fuselage at relatively velocity to reduce heating due plume in both hover forward flight thus minimizing IR signature contributions. Furthermore, directing stream upward, direct line sight exhausted energy is masked ground threats. are also preferably shrouded aerodynamic fairing which provides contour minimize impact defines air-cooled ejector gap augment airflow further insulate obscure temperature gas through duct.
