摘要: Computed tomography (CT) is the most commonly used radiological response evaluation method in contemporary oncology. However, it may not be optimally suitable for assessment of oncolytic virus treatments because paradoxical inflammatory tumor swellings, which result from treatments, particularly when viruses are armed with immunostimulatory molecules. Here we investigated prognostic utility CT and [(18)F]-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission (PET) treatments. We also possible appearance false-positive FDG signals FDG-PET imaging humans hamsters treated adenoviruses. First, immunocompetent Syrian were intratumoral adenovirus injections, growth was followed up, [(18)F]-FDG-uptake quantitated small animal PET/CT. Second, describe a retrospective patient series, essentially 17 individual case reports, advanced cancer patients adenoviruses context an Advanced Therapy Access Program (ATAP) who underwent both contrast-enhanced FDG-PET. Third, collected series survival data 182 ATAP to evaluate reliability Overall, responses correlated well each other equally reliable as markers long after treatment. Interestingly, observed that new FDG-avid lymph nodes appearing represent therefore should interpreted treatment failure absence signs or verification disease progression. indications might more sensitive detection than size.
