摘要: Numerous proxy climate reconstructions have been developed for Europe, but there are still regions with limited data of this kind. One region is the Balkan Peninsula, which characterized by complex interactions between mountains and climate. We present discuss two tree-ring chronologies—a 758-year-long one Pinus heldreichii Christ 340-year-long peuce Griseb. from treeline locations in Pirin Mountains Bulgaria. Climate–growth relationships were computed bootstrap correlation functions their consistency over time assessed calculating correlations shortened periods. In addition, we reviewed analyzed situations years unusually narrow or wide tree rings. Both species negatively influenced previous summer drought conditions cold winters. Early temperatures positively correlated P. radial growth, whereas displayed dependence on precipitation. second half twentieth century, trees higher sensitivity to drought, was probably a result increased decreased winter Our findings contribute more reliable records region.
