Onsager-molecule approach to screening potentials in strongly coupled plasmas

摘要: The solution of the exact integral equation for liquid pair-structure in asymptotic strong coupling limit plasma, as mapped on Onsager charge-smearing optimization energy lower bound, features “Onsager atoms” and molecules”. universal properties this make it a natural reference starting point an expansion fluid structure thermodynamics, playing role “ideal liquid” state. In particular, leading terms potential energy, direct correlation functions, screening potentials Coulomb Yukawa mixtures (corresponding to classical plasmas electron screened plasmas), with full thermodynamic consistency, are presented. These complete agreement Alastuey-Jancovici analysis early simulations data by Hansen coupling, recent highly accurate Ogata, Iyetomi, Ichimaru.
