摘要: Researchers and breeders have long been aware that the combination of conventional breeding approaches molecular tools would benefit forage turf cultivar development. In spite this, cultivars currently released are still conventionally bred. This contrasts with increasing number research reports about DNA-marker assisted characterization germplasm resources QTL mapping for a variety traits in different species. this paper, we describe few attempts undertaken thus far to make use marker-assisted selection (MAS) We also present an overview most-researched crops past decennia, which substantial genetic genomic knowledge is available. The expected impact association cost-effective high-throughput genotyping technologies, as well wealth information available from model organisms, discussed. Achievements species such maize demonstrate effectiveness international, multidisciplinary collaborations. Taking into consideration level individual industrial/academic investments typical breeding, emphasize relevance international collaborative efforts suggest ways share (e.g., at populations) effective implementation MAS programs or
