摘要: Tick paralysis, a form of tick toxicosis, is descriptionbed in springbok Antidorcas marsupialis the south-western Orange Free State. Springbok were infested with Karoo paralysis tick, Ixodes rubicundus, when they frequented hilly areas during autumn and winter months (April to July). Paralysed had significantly higher mean burdens (30,0 i?½ 8,1) than healthy animals (10,2 1,2). Removal all ticks early stages resulted complete recovery antelope within one or two days.
